Marcel Proust Questionaire -

a character development tool

A fashionable parlor game originating among the Victorian literate classes

This tool gives you an idea of how character development for your story could work. I chose 10 questions out of the famous 40 questions questionnaire designed by Marcel Proust, which he introduced in the 19th century to the Salons in Paris as an early version of Trivial Pursuit.  The truth of your character comes to life, you get to know the heroes of your story.
Answer the questions truthfully first for yourself and then put yourself into the shoes of the character you develop. Find the answers to these questions as each of your characters and write their background story along these answers. An authentic character is born! And your character driven story excels!
After you have done the questionaire, get your results and ideas from other character development questionairs straight into your inbox and create characters who resonate.
