The Artist's Way - Jasper
Jul 14, 2022
I saw two different socks, and shoes - my coffee stop already paid out!
Not laying around and waiting for washing, but on an Artist's feet, "Ringelsocke" would the German say. Why do I know it was an artist?
She spoke over the phone with some one important, it seemed, slowly a loud telephone voice filled the stylish coffee shop and it became clear that the woman on the other side was indeed very important. The artist interrupted her own sentence, saying " hold on a sec" she walked to the window and looked out for a long time, not moving, just standing there. I wondered if she was looking at the landscape or if she was looking at something inside herself. Then she turned around, and said "I'm sorry, what were you saying?" in a soft voice. The other woman on the phone started to speak again, but the artist interrupted her once more. "No", she said " I don't think so" and then she hung up the phone. For a moment she just stood there, looking at the phone in her hand, and then she walked back to the window and looked out again.
I had never seen someone so lost in their own thoughts before. It was as if the world outside didn't exist for her. She was in her own little world, a world of color and light and sound. I wondered what it would be like to be in such a world, and then I realised that maybe I was. Maybe we all are. Maybe the world is what we make it, and if we make it beautiful, then it will be.
The artist turned away from the window and walked back to her easel. She picked up her brush and began to paint again, it must have been in her thoughts, as in reality she sat on a stylish stool in this new trendy coffee shop in the centre of cologne. The blue walls and the soft music in the background gave her a feeling of security, as if she was in her own little world again. She smiled to herself and continued painting, all in her mind, but it was so obvious, that she was painting with her thoughts.
I sat there for a while, watching her. It was fascinating to see someone so lost in their own thoughts and yet so connected to the world around them. I felt a sudden urge to talk to her, to ask her about her art and what it meant to her. But I didn't want to disturb her, so I just sat there and watched as she continued painting in her very own imagination, letting me in, somehow magically.
After a while, she put down her brush - and got up from the stool. She walked over to me. "It's beautiful," I said, gesturing to the painting. "Thank you," she replied, "but it's not finished yet." And with that, she walked away, leaving me alone in the coffee shop, in my very own imagination she so deeply had sparked.
I sat there for a while longer, looking at the unfinished painting. It was extraordinaire but it needed something more. "What is missing"? I asked myself, missing in this painting the unknown artists painted for me in my mind.
I could not answer my question, so I got up and left the coffee shop. Maybe one day I will find out what was missing in that painting. But for now, I am content to simply enjoy the creativity of the artist - and the fact that, in a small way, I was part of it.

The Bauhaus was another important German art movement. It was founded in 1919 and was known for its simple, functional designs. The Kubismus (Cubism) movement was a French art movement that began in the early 20th century. It was known for its geometric shapes and abstract designs.

The above was all written by Jasper.
It took me 2 minutes to create the title which. based on a picture I took during my travels in a very stylish coffee shop, and I decided to write a blog post and get the first 10.000 words from Jasper for free.
Now, step by step, I was asked to create a Title, or let Jasper do it, I decided to give them a hand and choose "the Artist's way",
next came the content description, again I was asked if I'd like to leave it to Jasper, and again I decided to help them.
Tone of voice and Keywords I left blank, we do not want to make it too easy for my new colleague Jasper.
As output length I chose M and he ended with "Thanks for reading", in the above text.
Now, I wrote the intro, then I gave them the stylus, and off they went, creating wild! Jasper and me worked together in a frantic co-creative collaboration and the moment they stopped writing, I took over and added a new story turn, and then it was their turn again.
I was speechless, and that is rare. My judgement, if you you really take the time to feed the beast accurately, it will take you into directions you have not thought about before, so play with the new tool, but keep the stylus in your hand!
Thanks for reading! 😀
